Legacy 1251 was started to honor our grandpa, Gery Maury. Gery was a star athlete at Rantoul High School in the 1950's. He went on to open Gery & Al's Sporting Goods in Champaign and Rantoul. He worked in the sporting goods profession until his retirement. Legacy 1251 is to recognize the 1,251 points he scored at Rantoul High. He accomplished this feat without the 3-point line and held this record until 1992. Our grandpa was a respected businessman in the Champaign and Rantoul communities. Although larger retailers are more prevalent within our community, we wanted to give our local towns a version of a quality apparel and sports store. We specialize in sports and branded apparel, sports accessories, team stores and more.
